TruTalents® help connect candidates to jobs based on transferable skills and workplace behaviors associated with success in a role.
How TruTalents Are Identified for a Job
When creating a job posting, employers are asked to review the top TruTalents associated with the position. These recommended TruTalents are informed by occupational data from O*NET Online, a comprehensive database sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor that identifies the knowledge, skills, abilities, and work characteristics important for different occupations.
Using the job title and job description provided during setup, TruTalent® identifies the TruTalents most commonly associated with success in similar roles. Employers can then review and adjust these preferences as part of the job setup process.
The recommended TruTalent standards are based on occupational data associated with the role. Significant changes to these recommendations may reduce the effectiveness and job-related validity of the matching process.
How Candidate Matching Works
Job seekers complete the TruTalents assessment as part of their profile. During matching, the platform compares a candidate’s strongest TruTalents with the TruTalents identified for the job, along with:
- Skills
- Education
- Work experience
Supporting Fair and Consistent Hiring
TruTalents are only one part of the overall matching process and are intended to support more informed, job-related candidate evaluations.
To support fairness and reduce the potential for bias, TruTalents have been reviewed across diverse populations and are regularly evaluated and updated as part of our ongoing assessment review process.
